As someone who is an avid player of this game there are a lot more problematic themes in the game due to our current political climate. Solas was originally drawn to be a darker skinned elf in his original drawings but that was changed in the final product. I see more hate on characters like Vivienne (a woman of color) because of how she feels about mages, even though there are others that have shared the same opinion (Cullen, Cassandra, both Cis-gendered white characters).

I love these games but there are some things I would change about how it is written. Especially because the elves were originally based on Native American people (I myself am Native America, Ho-Chunk Nation) but don’t diversify them much and lump them all as being the same.

I like how detailed your article is regarding how your character is treated differently because that is how real life can be.
